Setting Cookie Acceptance on Internet Explorer

Reason to Change Cookie Settings

What page you see on a website may depend on whether or not you accept their cookies. In particular to see the USA coverage map for T-Mobile on Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 you must set IE to accept all cookies.

In general cookies are harmless since they do not contain executable code. What they do do, however, is to give websites information about the history of previous interactions with that website.

If you are nervous about cookies, you can change the settings back again and even erase all cookies. (See below.)

Changing the Cookie Acceptance on IE 6.0

  1. Open Internet Explorer.

  2. Under the Tools Menu, open Internet Options.
  3. Select the Privacy tab.
  4. Drag the rectangular handle to the bottom. The headline should read "Accept All Cookies".
  5. T-Mobile will now display the full USA coverage map.

Setting It back and Erasing Cookies

To set the Cookie Acceptance back, simply drag the handle to the desired setting.

To remove any cookies, under the General tab of Internet Options under Tools click on "Delete Cookies".
